I have wanted to start this blog for a long time to keep family and friends far away updated on our family happenings. So here goes....
We are into our second year of Home School and I have to say I am enjoying it even more this year. Jessica is in 8th grade and just turned 14! I can't believe I'm old enough to have a 14 year old, oh, wait, I'm NOT! Her favorite subject although she might not admit it, is writing. She loves creative writing when she doesn't have to pay attention to the spelling and grammar. She has written five chapters to a book that we plan on publishing through a company at an inexpensive price with a true binding and everything. Jessica is still my horse lover. If money weren't an issue we'd have a barn with at least four horses (that Jessica would take care of) and we would live on a farm of at least five acres on the edge of the Ocala National Forest where we could go riding whenever her little heart desired! Jessica has started babysitting this year with supervision. She's a sitter in training. She babysits for our pastor and his wife's four children. Charlie is six so he entertains himself, Ellie Grace is three so Jess gets to play dress up and get her hair fixed every Thursday, Jack is two and he's a loving boy who gives out many hugs and kisses. Jessica does her homework there during his naptime. Then there is baby Samuel, who she gets to hold and rock so Brooke can shower! I remember what those days were like; a day I had a shower was a successful day and I only have two! Jessica will be taking a babysitting training class November 1st where she'll learn CPR, First Aid, diaper changing and many other safety issues that occur with children. Once she has her training she will begin babysitting more alone and get paid, so far it's volunteer, and she hasn't said a word about it. Jessica is my loving girl. She still wishes she was the size of a two year old so she could climb into my lap and be smothered with hugs and kisses. We still try this every once in a while, but I have to sit on her lap!
Rebekah is a joy! She keeps us all laughing; our little comedian! She just recently lost her third tooth on the top and the one next to it is wiggly as well. By the way, she swollwed that tooth because she said, "it's not ready to be pulled yet, mama!" She dances to the beat of her own drums. We try hard to direct that strong will for God's glory. Rebekah reminds me so much of myself and it drives her crazy that I know what she's thinking and can predict her next move. Rebekah's favorite subject is coloring! She is really good at spelling and math and is learning to write in cursive. She has beautiful handwriting, but none of those subjects does he enjoy, so she tells me every chance she gets. She is reading chapter books this year as well. It took all summer to convince her that she could read those books even though there were not pictures on every single page. She now reads one every two days. She is reading the
